Slovakia truckers announce plans to block Ukraine border in protest of EU rules for Ukrainian competitors

Slovak truck drivers joined Polish truck drivers on Friday and announced that they would block the Vysne Nemecke border crossing with Ukraine to protest EU policies towards Ukrainian competitors, which they call unfair. The Slovak truckers union UNAS released a statement saying they want to the EU immediately terminate an agreement with Ukraine that they believe is causing the transport market in Slovakia and Poland to collapse.

Federal judge declines Texas request to block immigration officials from cutting border fencing

Chief US District Judge Alia Moses rejected a motion for a preliminary injunction from Texas on Wednesday to block the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) from cutting wire fencing at the US-Mexico border. The case is in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas. Texas sued in October to stop DHS officials from cutting the wire fence at the border.
