Federal judge declines to block Nevada ‘ghost gun’ ban

A federal judge on Monday rejected an attempt to block enforcement of Nevada’s ban on so-called “ghost guns,” including the sale of guns without serial numbers and unfinished weapons for self-assembly. Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC), a Second Amendment advocacy non-profit, along with several Nevada gun owners, sought a preliminary injunction to halt AB 286 from going into effect.

The Swedish Prosecution Authority charged an unnamed 60-year-old Iranian national Tuesday with war crimes and murder of more than 100 political prisoners in Iran going back to 1988. According to the indictment filed by prosecutors Kristina Lindhoff Carleson and Martina Winslow, the accused individual was an assistant to the deputy prosecutor in Gohardasht prison in July 1988 when Ayatollah Khomeini ordered the execution of all those in Iranian prisons who sympathized with the Mujahideen group.

Hong Kong court convicts human rights activist under national security law

The Hong Kong High Court on Tuesday convicted Tong Ying-kit under the National Security Law (NSL) for inciting secessionism and terrorism. Tong was accused of driving his motorcycle into a group of police officers while carrying a flag bearing the protest slogan “Liberate Hong Kong, revolution of our times” last July.
