Germany police raid Islamic Center of Hamburg, accuses group of Hezbollah support

German police, through order of the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI), raided the Islamic Center of Hamburg (IZH) and five other organizations, saying the groups were pro-Hezbollah and support the Hezbollah’s activities on Thursday. Authorities say the other organizations are subsidiaries of IZH. The raid involved police forces from several regions, and 54 objects were seized and evaluated by the federal security authorities.

US judge rules that North Dakota legislative map violates Voting Rights Act and ‘dilutes’ Native American voting strength

Following a four-day trial, a US federal judge ruled on Friday that North Dakota’s 2021 legislative redistricting plan violates the Voting Rights Act of 1965 (VRA) because it dilutes the voting power of Native American voters. Syria president issues decree granting amnesty and reducing sentences for certain crimes

Syria’s president Bashar al-Assad issued a decree on Thursday (Legislative Decree No 36 of 2023) granting amnesty for certain crimes committed before the decree was issued, subject to conditions. Every Supreme Court conference this year is on a Wednesday, except for this week. Because of Thanksgiving, the conference will take place on Tuesday. (Court calendar here ; next year there will be three Tuesday conferences.) We assume the conference list will be published on Monday. The court will be closed on Thursday and Friday. It looks like the day after Thanksgiving is a judicial holiday , but not a state holiday.
