SOS Humanity, a charitable search and rescue organization, Sunday announced that it is taking legal action against the Italian government for failing to allow 35 migrants aboard an SOS Humanity rescue vessel to disembark. The Italian government denied the disembarkation because of an Italian Ministers for Interior and Infrastructure decree. Italian authorities Saturday permitted SOS Humanity’s rescue vessel, Humanity 1, to enter the port at Catania.

The court will decide whether the federal district courts have the ability to hear challenges against US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) proceedings, or whether those challenges must remain within the SEC’s administrative courts. In the weeks prior to the UN Climate Change Conference (COP27), Egyptian authorities have arrested hundreds of people in for allegedly planning and supporting protests set take place during the conference. At least 151 people are currently detained by the State Security Prosecution (SSSP), according to Amnesty International (AI). The Egyptian Front for Human Rights reported that between October 25 and October 30, the SSSP imprisoned a minimum of 65 people for 15 days.
