Canada’s Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, Marc Miller, announced a family-based humanitarian pathway on Thursday that enables Sudanese and non-Sudanese nationals to reunite with their family in Canada permanently. India on Friday reiterated its request to Pakistan for the extradition of Hafiz Saeed, the founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), who is sought by India in connection with multiple terrorist acts, including the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Indian Ministery of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagachi confirmed the request in a weekly briefing. Turkish authorities detained 32 people on Friday that they claimed had links to the Islamic State (IS). Authorities allege that the individuals were planning to carry out attacks on synagogues and churches as well as the Iranian embassy. The Turkish National Intelligence Agency (MIT) claims that it identified several high-ranking members of IS within the country and acted to stop any plans they may have had to disrupt the peace.
