This finalized settlement ends litigation over Volkswagen’s “clean diesel” marketing, sales practices and product liability that began in December 2015. Last week, Volkswagen announced that it aims “to mak[e] its data center operations net carbon-neutral” by 2027.

A conditional settlement of the long-running litigation between Global Music Rights (GMR) , a relatively new performing rights organization formed to license the public performance rights to certain musical works, and the Radio Music License Committee (RMLC) was announced this week. Because of COVID, the litigation has been stalled.

As we wrote earlier this year , RMLC and GMR announced a settlement of the litigation, contingent on enough radio companies agreeing to be bound by that settlement. The CRB is currently in the process of setting those rates for ASCAP, BMI, SESAC and GMR for the period 2023-2027.

Thus far, GMR has no oversight over its rates. TV too is affected by the decisions of the CRB.

The Copyright Royalty Board yesterday published in the Federal Register the proposed rates for the public performance of musical compositions by noncommercial broadcasters for the period 2023 through 2027. The rates reflect settlements between ASCAP, BMI, SESAC and GMR with various organizations representing noncommercial broadcasters.
