The South Carolina legislature is moving to enact a new law with deeply troubling free speech implications. The language below is reminiscent of laws making it illegal to share information on committing suicide. The free speech concerns are even greater with regard to the South Carolina law.

Here is the column: It is a touchstone of American constitutional law that nothing protects your right to shout “fire!” The Wall Street Journal argued this week that the law is unconstitutional because there is no stated authority under the 12th Amendment for Congress to do anything other than count the votes certified by the states.
