For several years now, Above the Law has been tracking Kim Kardashian’s journey to becoming a lawyer through an apprenticeship. Since 2019, the reality TV star turned beauty and clothing entrepreneur has offered us glimpses into her life as a law student through her social media feeds, and with each study session, current law students and practicing lawyers couldn’t help but grow a little closer to her.

Perhaps the thing that humanized Kardashian the most to members of the legal profession was her repeated failures on the baby bar exam. Kardashian failed the test three times before she finally succeeded, and now comes news that Kardashian will serve a starring role as a lawyer in an upcoming Ryan Murphy series as she strives to become one off-screen. Check out the details on her latest acting role, from Deadline:

On the heels of her breakthrough performance in American Horror Story: DelicateKim Kardashian is getting her own scripted series. She is staying in business with AHS co-creator/executive producer Ryan Murphy for the project, described as a high-end, glossy and sexy adult procedural, Deadline has learned. It has landed at Hulu, home of hit reality series The Kardashians, with a big series commitment, I hear. This marks the first series for Murphy under his new deal at Disney, with 20th Television, part of Disney TV Studios, producing.

Kardashian, whose acting deal is being negotiated, is poised to play Los Angeles’ most successful divorce lawyer and the owner of an all-female law firm in the legal drama….

We have a feeling that Kardashian will be drawing inspiration for the role from Laura Wasser, the Los Angeles celebrity divorce maven who handled the dissolution of her marriage from Kanye West. In fact, TMZ has confirmed that the show is in part based on Wasser’s life and times.

Best of luck to Kim Kardashian in her new acting role. Someday soon, we hope she’ll be able to say she actually is a lawyer, who also happened to play one on TV.
