Top 50 Biglaw Firm Gets Bigger, Better Space To Entice Lawyers To Work From The Office

The firm's new office may help lawyers better understand there's a 'purpose' to working in person.

Some of the lateral partners we’ve spoken to … have told us that one of the important things to them is people are in the office and we’re collaborating in-person whereas the firms they came from may have had less office attendance. We believe in a hybrid work model but we believe there’s a purpose to being in the office.

Jonathan Stott, managing partner of Dechert’s San Francisco office, in comments given to The Recorder on the firm’s new office, which has 2,000 more square feet of space than its old office. Dechert’s lawyers are expected to come into the office three days each week, and its new office not only has more space, but it also has “enhanced amenities” designed to encourage lawyers to work from the office.
