Elite Law School Reigns Supreme In The U.S. News Law School Omnibus Specialty Rankings

How did your law school fare in the latest specialty ranking? Find out here.

US-News-Rankings-Logo-no-yearThe 2024-2025 U.S. News law school rankings were released in earlier this month, but their publication came and went without the usual ravenous fanfare. Perhaps today’s law students have simply had enough of the general rankings. Maybe they need something more specialized to sate their interest, like the U.S. News specialty rankings. Those haven’t received quite as much attention — until now.

Dean Paul Caron of Pepperdine Law has created an omnibus ranking of the top 100 law schools for the 13 specialty programs U.S. News compiles rankings for each year. Those 13 programs are, in alphabetical order, Business/Corporate Law; Clinical Law; Constitutional Law; Contracts/Commercial Law; Criminal Law; Dispute Resolution; Environmental Law; Health Care Law; Intellectual Property Law; International Law; Legal Writing; Tax Law; and Trial Advocacy.

Which law school came out on top?

Here are the Top 10 law schools in the omnibus specialty ranking:

  1. Georgetown
  2. Michigan
  3. Harvard
  4. Northwestern
  5. Stanford
  6. UC Berkeley
  7. UCLA
  8. NYU
  9. George Washington
  10. Texas

Congratulations to Georgetown Law! Not only has the school reclaimed its spot in the T14 (although it’s now tied with Cornell), but GULC managed to keep its #1 ranking when it comes to legal specialties.
