Not Every Biglaw Firm Is As Inflexible About Working From Home As Others

Do we really need to mandate office time? No, we do not.

Ed. note: Welcome to our daily feature, Quote of the Day.

[W]hether it’s someone saying ‘I want to be in the office on a regular basis,’ or someone who wants to be at home, the answer is, ‘Great.’ Because now we’re in a hybrid environment. I do believe personally there is real value in people interacting and spending time with one another and training and work product, but does that have to happen on a mandated level every day? No. I haven’t come across anyone in recruiting that feels differently.

— Lisa Pilotto, chief recruiting officer at Polsinelli, in comments given to the American Lawyer concerning Biglaw firms and the mandate to return to the office. As Pilotto notes, some firms are much more flexible than others when it comes to their hybrid work models.
