Quinn Emanuel Will Allow Lawyers To Work Remotely, Indefinitely, From Anywhere In The Country

Is this the first of many Am Law 100 firms to make such a move?

lawyer work from homeOur lawyers should work from wherever they do their best work. We want to invite the best litigators to join our firm, wherever their desks are. Over the past 18 months, our lawyers have mastered the art of collaborating remotely and at the highest levels—without sacrificing camaraderie or the free sharing of ideas.

We are reimagining how we use our office spaces to emphasize the benefits of in-person meetings, team building, and trial preparation when we do get together. We recognize there are valuable aspects of the in-office experience that are hard to replicate remotely. We intend to create an even more vibrant in-office experience.

John Quinn, chair and founder of Quinn Emanuel, commenting on the firm’s decision to allow all of its U.S. attorneys to work remotely on a permanent basis, from wherever they like. Associates new to the firm must be hired by and affiliated with an existing office, regardless of where they ultimately plan to live. As noted by the American Lawyer, Quinn Emanuel is the first Am Law 100 firm to “delink its personnel from their offices.”
