Court Forms Online Plus Toolkit

Courts everywhere should check out the Court Forms Online MassAccess project that was created and maintained by the Document Assembly Line Project at the Suffolk Law’s Legal Innovation and Technology Lab in cooperation with the Massachusetts Access to Justice Commission’s COVID-19 task force.  But before we go further… the code tool sets are available online for free!  More…

The system's user interface starts simply by presenting the user with a general text box question, “What seems to be the problem?”  This is a great approach because it doesn’t assume that a person can categorize their legal issue.  The question box is then connected to a search engine they have developed called “Spot” which is designed to help find the legal problem information needed.  And the site has a terrific graphic that explains how “Spot” works.

Next, the system connects to the “Document Assembly Line Project” powered by Docassemble.  There the project has posted a style guide that will help you write good questions and other content

And as mentioned above. the software code for this system is provided for free in a GitHub repository.

Congratulations to all for a great project and one that can benefit courts everywhere.
