This Dean Will Be *Very Dissapointed* If You Fail The Bar Considering He Taught You On Themis

Kramer is definitely going to get 'It's down again!' as his most frequent email as dean.

547229It is always weird to realize that the people you see on the internet are actually out there in the real world doing people things. This is especially true for those of us who’ve gone through bar prep — once your world becomes cramming torts and throwing a fit each time Themis is down, it is hard to notice anything else. And yet, the world moves. Paula Franzese is probably somewhere watching people eat penne alla vodka wondering if they know who her father is, Richard Freer is yelling at people to keep things mechanical, and Zachary Kramer is starting a new job as Elon University School of Law’s dean for some reason. You read that right. From Elon:

Zachary Kramer, interim dean and the Jonathan & Wendy Rose Professor of Law at Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, will formally join the Elon Law community in June.

Let’s get two things out of the way. Yes, he’s the same Zachary Kramer from Themis Bar Prep that Redditors love. Or hate. Listen, I get it — teacher appreciation can be polarizing. Second, this Elon has no relationship to this Elon; the school is over a century his senior and is named after Elon, North Carolina, where it is located.

Kramer lauded Elon Law’s program for its innovation. Might that innovation include forcing its 1Ls to sit through hours of his pre-recorded lectures on property? That is unclear, but I know for sure that his students will flood his email box with strongly worded letters upon graduation if and when Themis is down.

Chris Williams became a social media manager and assistant editor for Above the Law in June 2021. Prior to joining the staff, he moonlighted as a minor Memelord™ in the Facebook group Law School Memes for Edgy T14s.  He endured Missouri long enough to graduate from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law. He is a former boatbuilder who cannot swim, a published author on critical race theory, philosophy, and humor, and has a love for cycling that occasionally annoys his peers.
