UN experts say Russia media law creates ‘total information blackout’

According to the experts, the law places Russia under a “total information blackout” on the war. UN human rights office reports 636 civilian deaths in Ukraine

The UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) Monday reported 636 total civilian deaths suffered during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Between February 24 and March 13, 2022, the OHCHR recorded 1,761 civilian casualties. This included 636 deaths and 1,125 injuries. Of those killed, 46 were children and 590 were adults. Of the injured civilians, 63 were children.

An Australian jury found a police officer not guilty Friday of all charges related to the death of a young indigenous man in the remote community of Yuendumu, in the Northern Territory of Australia. Constable Zachary Rolfe shot and killed 19-year-old Walpiri man Kumanjayi Walker during an attempted arrest on the night of November 9, 2019.
