The Taliban took control of Afghanistan’s capital in Kabul on August 15, 2021.

The bill is aimed at prioritizing student safety and helping prevent school shootings. Senator Anthony Portantino decided to introduce the legislation after the Nov. 30 shooting at Oxford High School, where a 15-year-old suspect killed four students.
