Funny, I was watching a show on the History Channel about that device from 500 BC for determining moon phases and the commenter said it was amazing to think that it took humans 2,000 years to realize that they could change the device a bit and use it to help them to math.
But I am sure that J. Breyer and J. Taranto could go back into their chambers with a warm cloth and soap and make themselves believe that they would have done it in an afternoon.
