Florida advances bill to bar LGBTQ discussions in schools

A Florida legislative committee Thursday advanced a bill that would outlaw certain discussions of sexual orientation and gender identity in Florida schools. HB 1557, called the Parental Rights in Education bill , would prohibit school teachers or third parties from introducing classroom instruction on sexual orientation or gender identity for kindergarten through third grade if that instruction is not age or developmentally appropriate.

US Patent Nos. 7,122,609 and 8,076,431. On appeal though, the Federal Circuit reversed — holding that the prior art “teaches away from the claimed invention” and that the Board also relied on non-analogous prior art.
