Jamie Raskin Would *Really* Like A Word With Ginni Thomas

But will a subpoena follow?

The heat keeps on getting turned up on Ginni Thomas, the conservative political operative who just happens to be married to a Supreme Court justice. We know that after Donald Trump lost the 2020 election, like many far-right folks, she refused to deal with the loss and just raged against the dying of the MAGA light.

She sent a series of text messages to Mark Meadows, Trump’s Chief of Staff. She blasted Arizona representatives begging them to overturn the results of the election.  She corresponded with Coups 4 Dummies lawyer John Eastman. And it was recently revealed she also pestered Wisconsin lawmakers over the election as well.

All of which has absolutely caught the attention of the January 6th Committee. They’ve indicated they’re interested. But despite initially saying she’s down with that, she’s backed away from the voluntary route.

But that doesn’t mean the interest has waned. During a media appearance over the long weekend, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) said, as a member of the January 6th Committee, he believes Ginni has relevant information to the investigation. Of course, the Committee has spoken to over 1,000 people — so take it with a grain of salt.

“Speaking as only one member, I would say she has relevant testimony to render. And she should come forward and give it,” Raskin, a member of the committee, said on CBS “Face the Nation.”

“I don’t want to overstate her role. We’ve talked to more than a thousand people. But we would like to hear from [former Speaker Newt] Gingrich [R-Ga.] and from her too,” Raskin added.

Of course, Raskin’s thoughts are about as valuable as a hill of beans… unless the Committee actually pulls the trigger on a subpoena for Ginni.
