The Government of India Friday filed an affidavit before the Delhi High Court averring that foreign commercial entities such as WhatsApp cannot challenge the constitutionality of Indian laws by invoking fundamental rights under the Indian Constitution. The affidavit was filed as part of the government’s response to WhatsApp’s lawsuit against the new Information Technology Rules which were brought by the government in February 2021.

Former Minneapolis police officer Mohamed Noor, whose murder conviction for the fatal shooting of an unarmed woman was overturned last month, has been resentenced to a reduced term of 57 months in prison. He was originally sentenced to 12 and a half years. Noor fatally shot Justine Ruszczyk, 40, in 2017. Ruszczyk called the police after hearing a woman scream near her home.

The FTC not only released the notice, but it also sent a letter (a version of which is available here ) to hundreds of businesses (a list is here ) – advertisers, advertising agencies, and a few media companies – reminding them of the FTC’s concerns about deceptive endorsements in advertising.
