NY Governor signs law allowing for “human composting” as burial method

New York Governor Kathy Hochul Saturday signed legislation validating natural organic reduction as a method of burial. Known as “human composting” in common parlance, the process involves placing the body of deceased in a vessel and adding organic material like wood chips, alfalfa grass and straw. Such an arrangement provides conducive environment for natural microbes to act efficiently and quickly.

The Arizona Court of Appeals ruled Friday that licensed physicians can legally perform abortions insofar as the fetus is less than 15 weeks old. 12000 men tried to flee Ukraine martial law since Russia invaded

Ukraine’s State Border Service Friday reported 12,000 men have tried to illegally leave the country with 15 casualties following the imposition of martial law and general mobilization orders in response to the Russian invasion. Of the 15 casualties, there are 12 cases of drowning recorded in the river section of the Ukrainian-Romanian border, and another three bodies of dead men found in the mountains.

Happy New Year to everyone on our blog! We rang in 2021 at home in McLean, Virginia after returning from Chicago for Christmas. New Year’s Eve is also my wedding anniversary. Twenty-five years ago, Leslie and I eloped in Old Town Alexandria after dating eight years. (We used my high school ring to seal the deal). Once again, we will celebrate two anniversary dates.
