I’ve had a great career, weathered some storms, at times feeling undervalued and underutilized, and at others wondering if I could tackle the latest project I’ve been handed. A Michigan judge Tuesday blocked the enforcement of a 1931 state law which would ban abortions in the event Roe v. Wade is overturned. The ruling was met with praise from the Michigan governor. MCL 750.14 is a Michigan law enacted in 1931 which made all abortions a felony unless it was necessary to save the mother’s life. After the ruling on Roe v. Wade made abortion a constitutionally-protected right, the Michigan law was ruled unenforceable by the Michigan Supreme Court.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton Thursday amended the initial lawsuit against Google to include claims regarding Google’s Incognito mode as another violation of Texas’ Deceptive Trade Practices Act. The lawsuit alleges that Google misled the public to believe they could restrict the sharing of their personal data through using Google’s Incognito mode.

The Danish Ministry of Justice Thursday put charges on hold for former Defense Minister Claus Hjort Frederiksen after the Danish parliament Folketing refused to remove Frederiksen’s parliamentary immunity. The Ministry of Justice previously recommended charging Frederiksen with leaking state secrets. As a current member of the Folketing, Frederiksen is guaranteed parliamentary immunity under Section 57 of the Danish constitution, which can only be removed by a vote in the Folketing. .

The California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) Thursday released a statement to announce that the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA) cited Valero Refinery and three contractors a total of $1.75 million for serious safety violations which resulted in the death of a worker in November 2021. Cal/OSHA inspectors cited three of four employers for willful and serious violations after they determined confined space guidelines were not followed.
