“President Biden Names Nineteenth Round of Judicial Nominees”: The White House issued this news release today, which includes the announcement of three federal appellate court nominees.

And in early news coverage, Rachel Weiner of The Washington Post reports that “Biden nominee would be first Latino on federal appeals court in D.C.; The president has nominated Bradley Garcia, who works at the Justice Department, for a seat on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.”

Access today’s rulings of the U.S. Supreme Court in argued cases: The Court today issued rulings in five argued cases and dismissed one case as improvidently granted.

1. Justice Amy Coney Barrett delivered the opinion of the Court in George v. McDonough, No. 21-234. Justice Sonia Sotomayor issued a dissenting opinion. And Justice Neil M. Gorsuch issued a dissenting opinion, in which Justice Stephen G. Breyer joined in full and Justice Sotomayor joined in part. You can access the oral argument via this link.

2. Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh delivered the opinion for a unanimous Court in American Hospital Assn. v. Becerra, No. 20-1114. You can access the oral argument via this link.

3.Justice Neil M. Gorsuch delivered the opinion of the Court in Ysleta del Sur Pueblo v. Texas, No. 20-493. And Chief Justice John G. 4. Justice Sotomayor delivered the opinion for a unanimous Court in Golan v. Saada, No. 20-1034. You can access the oral argument via this link.

5. Justice Alito delivered the opinion of the Court in Viking River Cruises, Inc. v. Moriana, No. 20-1573. Justice Sotomayor issued a concurring opinion. Justice Barrett issued an opinion, in which Justice Kavanaugh joined in full and Chief Justice Roberts joined except as to a footnote, concurring in part and concurring in the judgment.
