Today At ILTACON: Moving The Legal Profession Forward

Today's topics include psychological flexibility, artificial intelligence, and DEI initiatives.

data_Law_Justice (1)Ed. note: To help kick off our new “ILTA on ATL” channel, we’ll be bringing you daily updates from ILTACON this week. The event kicked off Sunday and runs through Thursday in Orlando.

Two days down, two to go!

It’s great to see the energy in the conference, so much thought leadership being shared in our sessions and by our sponsors. We’re pleased to share the number of attendees including onsite registration is upwards of 3,400, trending toward the second largest ILTACON gathering of all time.

It’s also been reported to us that over 34,000 Klik connections between attendees have occurred as of 8 a.m. Tuesday morning, a number which is sure to skyrocket upward as more and more of us understand and embrace this technology!

And there were a slew of informative company updates from companies small and large, a lot of the content focused on how generative AI will transform the legal industry, from intimate venues like the ILTA Startup Hub in the Exhibit Hall to large scale updates from legal tech industry leaders in the Grand Harbor Ballroom in the Yacht Club.

Thanks to all sponsors, educational presenters and volunteers who make all the magic happen!

On The Docket – The excellent content just keeps coming and coming!

Today’s keynote is provided by the esteemed Dr. Rob Archer, a published researcher who will speak to us about psychological flexibility, a key driver in improving performance, health and resilience. Another terrific example of the wide breadth of professional knowledge and advice offered at the conference.  Please do stop by.

Today on the educational front, we offer several forward-thinking sessions on moving the legal profession forward — including no/low code technology, how to encourage others to upskill their careers and change management topics related to moving one’s careers and organizations forward in a fast-paced legal world.

At 12:30 p.m., please consider visiting our session: Showcasing DEI and ESG Initiatives in Law Firms and Business Partner Teams in Southern Hemisphere V to learn more about these important and emerging issues. The afternoon also features sessions on bias/regulatory issues associated with AI, the latest and greatest with Learning Management Systems, and a very interesting session on how to deal with emerging data types such as short messages in the eDiscovery area.

And finally, there’a a great session on legal ops running at 2 p.m. in Dolphin for those from that community wishing to ramp up those skills.

ILTA Spotlight – Woman Who Lead Program: To paraphrase the Women’s World Cup, ILTA might not have the Matildas or Lionesses, but we do have the ILTA Women Who Lead Community.

They have events throughout the year, today’s 4:30 session “Female Leadership in a Barbie World: The Challenge of Being Everything” offers a glimpse at the value and content the group provides for any interested attendees.

Entertainment Tonight – Please join us this evening for the ILTA Comedy Lounge and cocktails at 5 p.m. in the Exhibit Hall.

A Word From Our Sponsors – Sponsors are the lifeblood of ILTACON, please visit their booths, demo rooms, updates and events to stay informed about their current product and service roadmaps. Today’s company updates in Dolphin and the Yacht locations are from Wilson Allen, iManage, Elite, LexisNexis, Anvesa and Aderant. Here’s a few thoughts from our sponsors on what they value at ILTACON.

Dan O’Day, CEO, ECFX: “I am looking forward to reconnecting in person with the LegalTech community. This year I am particularly looking forward to hearing about trends in process improvements and automation of workflows. I am also anticipating a lot of discussion on AI and hope for some more meaningful conversations that really dive into some of the fundamentals people don’t understand about the limitations around this technology.”

Jonathan Reed, CEO of AdvoLogix: “At AdvoLogix, we view ILTACON as a key platform to examine both AI innovation and enterprise legal management. From Large Language Models to real-world applications, the conference illuminates the path to legal technology’s future. As pioneers in enterprise legal management, we look forward to connecting and collaborating at ILTACON, driving a future where technology and legal strategy unite.”
