This Prestigious Firm Is Blowing The New Biglaw Salary Scale Out Of The Water
High-powered boutique offers even more money to its associates.
Pay raises have now so fully spread throughout the Biglaw landscape that it’s beginning to become a lot like that iconic Oprah car giveaway moment, except in this case, everyone is getting more money. You get a raise! You get a raise! You get a raise! EVERYBODY GETS A RAISE! And now, even boutique law firms where associate salaries were already way above market are handing out raises.
Kellogg Hansen, a firm that serves as a haven for attorneys coming off multiple clerkships, boasts a six-year partnership track and has paid its associates on a $225,000 to $345,000 scale since 2018. On top of those gigantic salaries, the firm hands out even bigger bonuses each year. Once again, the firm is shaking up its salaries and offering a new scale in the wake of the latest race to raise Biglaw pay.
Behold, the bigger, better, and even bolder Kellogg Hansen salary scale:
- 1st Year: $245,000 (up from $225,000; $40,000 more than market)
- 2nd Year: $245,000 (up from $225,000; $30,000 more than market)
- 3rd Year: $310,000 (up from $285,000; $70,000 more than market)
- 4th Year: $335,000 (up from $310,000; $60,000 more than market)
- 5th Year: $360,000 (up from $335,000; $55,000 more than market)
- 6th Year+: $370,000 (up from $345,000; $40,000 more than market)
