As Expected, Allen & Overy Leaders Will Manage A&O Shearman

While the principles for shared governance of the combined firm have been agreed, the specifics will be further developed after the vote as part of the integration process.

— A joint statement from Allen & Overy and Shearman & Sterling given to Bloomberg Law, concerning the fact that Allen & Overy’s current leaders, senior partner Wim Dejonghe and managing partner Khalid Garousha, will take charge of A&O Shearman if the merger is approved next week. Shearman’s senior partner, Adam Hakki, is expected to play a senior role in the combined firm’s governance, and will sit on its executive committee.
