Top 25 Biglaw Firm Hands Out Big Raises, Bonuses To Associates
Exciting news for everyone at the firm. Congratulations!
Hanukkah isn’t over yet and Christmas is just around the corner, so Biglaw firms still have ample time to give their associates the greatest gift of all: more money. Which firm is the latest to let its attorneys unwrap cold, hard cash?
That would be Sullivan & Cromwell. After bringing home $1,694,809,000 gross revenue in 2022, the firm came in 24th place in the most recent Am Law 100 ranking. S&C has now spoken out on raises and bonuses. The firm doesn’t publish memos related to compensation, but instead sends out individualized links to its attorneys. According to our sources, the firm is following the market.
Like all other firms of its ilk, SullCrom has chosen to use the Cravath scale for its compensation increases, meaning these are the salaries associates at the firm will see, as of January 1, 2024:
- Class of 2023 – $225,000
- Class of 2022 – $235,000
- Class of 2021 – $260,000
- Class of 2020 – $310,000
- Class of 2019 – $365,000
- Class of 2018 – $390,000
- Class of 2017 – $420,000
- Class of 2016+ – $435,000
S&C is also matching the Cravath bonus scale, and this is what year-end bonuses will look like at the firm:
- Class of 2023 – $15,000
- Class of 2022 – $20,000
- Class of 2021 – $30,000
- Class of 2020 – $57,500
- Class of 2019 – $75,000
- Class of 2018 – $90,000
- Class of 2017 – $105,000
- Class of 2016+ – $115,000
Bonuses at the firm will hit bank accounts on December 22. Congratulations to all Sullivan & Cromwell associates!
