There are a couple of California Supreme Court related bar programs on the horizon.

First, retired Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye will be interviewed by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Rupert Byrdsong on a remote webinar that is free to all. It’s the latest installment of the Beverly Hills Bar Association’s Bench Stories series. Registration is here for the June 28, 12:30 p.m., program.

Next will be the Alameda County Bar Association’s webinar, “A Busy Lawyer’s Guide to the California Supreme Court and the Dos and Don’ts of Petitions for Review.” The expert panel will feature David Carrillo (Executive Director of the California Constitution Center at Berkeley Law and editor-in-chief of the SCOCAblog), Kathleen Radez (a supervising chambers attorney at the California Supreme Court and Chief of Staff to Justice Goodwin Liu), and Greg Wolff (a former chambers attorney and/or head of chambers for — not concurrently —  retired Chief Justice Ron George, retired Justice Carlos Moreno, Justice Liu, and Justice Leondra Kruger). (Bios substantially condensed.) This one is not free, except for ACBA members, but, unlike the BHBA event, MCLE credit is available. The program will take place on July 13 from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Thanks to Ben Shatz’s Southern California Appellate News blog for alerting us to the two programs.
