Arizona Supreme Court determines abortion law from 1864 is enforceable

Arizona’s Supreme Court found on Tuesday that a 159-year-old law banning abortion is enforceable following the US Supreme Court’s 2022 decision to overturn abortion rights case Roe v Wade, sending a 52-year-old case back to trial court. But despite the injunction, Arizona lawmakers never repealed the law, so it remained on the books.

US federal judge upholds most provisions of Arizona voting laws requiring proof of citizenship

A federal judge in Arizona upheld two state laws on Thursday that require voters to provide documentation to prove their US citizenship before registering to vote. After a 10-day bench trial, Bolton issued a 109-page opinion upholding the laws. HB 2492 requires Arizona voters to provide documentary proof of citizenship.
